Ukrenergo has published outage schedules for October 24: there will be more hours with electricity
24 October 00:43
On Friday, October 24, hourly power outage schedules will remain in place in most parts of Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrenergo said that the restrictions will be less severe than the day before, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Why the blackouts are being introduced
According to Ukrenergo, the restrictions on electricity consumption are related to the consequences of Russia’s massive missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian power system. Some of the facilities were damaged, resulting in power shortages in some regions.
“On October 24, in some regions of Ukraine, measures will be taken to restrict consumption. The reason for the restrictions is the consequences of massive missile and drone attacks on power facilities,” Ukrenergo said.
How the schedules will work
Hourly outages of 1.5 to 2.5 queues will be applied for household consumers from 07:00 to 23:00.
At the same time, industrial enterprises will operate according to the power limitation schedules.
Power engineers note that the scope of restrictions may vary throughout the day. Ukrainians are advised to follow the official announcements of their power grid operators to prepare for possible outages in advance.
What was the situation the day before
on October 23, schedules of up to 3 queues were applied, which meant long interruptions in power supply – in some places, there was no electricity for up to 11 hours a day.
The most difficult situation is in the north and east. According to Ukrenergo, the most difficult situation with electricity supply remains in the following regions:
- Chernihiv
- Sumy
- Kharkiv
- Odesa region.
Repair works are ongoing in these regions, but their speed is limited due to constant shelling.
What consumers should do
Follow the schedule updates in the Telegram channels of their regional power distribution companies.
Charge mobile devices and power banks in advance.
Prepare alternative lighting sources.
Plan the use of electrical appliances during hours when the electricity supply is guaranteed.
The power engineers emphasized that despite the difficulties, the system is working stably, and the blackouts are a necessary measure to balance the power system and prevent accidents.
