Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall open the first joint workshop in Ukraine: what is known

A joint production shop of Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall has been launched in Ukraine: it will repair and then manufacture armoured vehicles. This was announced by the Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
This is the first project implemented under the partnership between Ukroboronprom and the German defence giant Rheinmetall.
According to Kamyshin, the launch of the joint workshop will allow foreign equipment to be repaired faster, and therefore return to the front line more quickly. In the future, the shop also plans to produce new models of armoured vehicles.
The minister stressed that this will support not only the Armed Forces but also the Ukrainian economy, as the workshop will employ Ukrainian specialists under the technical supervision of German colleagues. Thus, taxes will be paid in Ukraine.

As reported, on 5 May, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger announced the supply of artillery ammunition to Ukraine, including 100-kilometre-range shells.
In March, Papperger said that Rheinmetall wanted to build at least four plants in Ukraine.
Rheinmetall’s plants in Ukraine are expected to produce shells, military equipment, gunpowder and anti-aircraft weapons.
