Starting in December 2024, Ukrposhta will start paying state aid under the Winter eSupport program in the amount of UAH 1,000 to pensioners, people with disabilities of groups I and II, and recipients of social assistance, including those in the frontline areas, who receive it through the company’s branches. This was reported by Ukrposhta, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The first payments will be made along with pensions and social assistance in early December.
Who will be able to receive payments through Ukrposhta and how
More than two million pensioners and people with disabilities of groups I and II will be able to receive the one-time payment. They will receive UAH 1,000 along with their pensions and social benefits. The list of citizens who will receive the allowance through Ukrposhta is being compiled by the Ministry of Social Policy. Those on the list will not be able to apply through the Diia app.
Payments will be made through postmen, stationary and mobile Ukrposhta offices, which is especially important for people with limited mobility and rural residents.
How to use UAH 1,000 from the state
The recipients of the state aid will be able to spend it on utilities, mobile services, food, household chemicals, medicines and other Ukrainian-made goods directly at Ukrposhta offices. The company’s customers will also have the opportunity to use the Winter Support funds to subscribe to their favorite newspapers and magazines to receive them over the next year, as well as to purchase postal products.
When you can get help from the state
Assistance under the Winter ePay program at Ukrposhta will be provided from December 2024 to February 2025. Ukrposhta will start accepting applications for assistance in early December. The company promises to provide detailed instructions on how to do this in the near future.
The assistance will be available until March 2025, which provides flexibility and convenience for recipients.
What should recipients of the Ukrposhta allowance pay attention to?
Commenting on the payment of thousands of hryvnias as part of the “Winter eSupport” announced by Ukrposhta, MP Nina Yuzhanina emphasizes several important details:
– those who will be included in the list of recipients through Ukrposhta, which is formed by the Ministry of Social Policy, will not be able to apply through the Diia app;
– unlike the thousand received through Diia, which can be spent until December 31, 2025, the assistance received through Ukrposhta can be used until March 2025;
– no later than March 10, 2025, Ukrposhta will have to return the unused amounts of aid to the account of the Ministry of Economy from which the budget funds were transferred;
– the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers stipulates that Ukrposhta is responsible for the targeted use of the aid by the recipients.
As a reminder, the Winter eSupport program is part of the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and aims to support the country’s citizens by providing access to essential goods and services during the difficult winter period.
