Ukrposhta started accepting applications for the “winter thousand”: what documents are needed

Starting from November 18, all Ukrposhta offices will be able to pay UAH 1,000 as part of the state program “Winter Support”. You can apply until December 24, 2025, at any of the stationary or mobile branches – there are more than 26,000 of them throughout Ukraine.

Who will receive UAH 1000 automatically
If a person receives a pension or state social assistance through Ukrposhta, the “winter thousand” will be automatically credited to a special account.
There is no need to submit an application.
Who needs to go to the Ukrposhta office
The following persons can submit a written application at the post office
- those who receive their pension on a bank card and do not use the Diia app;
- ukrainians who do not have an RNOKPP (identification code);
- guardians of incapacitated persons – if they have documents confirming guardianship.
How to apply if a person cannot come to the branch
You need to call the Ukrposhta hotline: 0 800 300 545.
A postman will come to your home and help you fill out the application.
Residents of the frontline areas without access to stationary offices can submit a paper application through a mobile branch.
The payment is available to all citizens – adults and children
Any Ukrainian residing in Ukraine can apply.
One of the parents or a legal representative must submit documents for children.
A separate application is submitted for each child.
What documents are required
To apply at a Ukrposhta branch, you need
- passport or other identity document
- identification code (RNOKPP) or a note on its absence;
- a document confirming the status of a recipient of a disability pension or social assistance (if necessary).
Additionally
- for a child – a birth certificate;
- for an incapacitated person – a guardian’s document and a decision on the appointment of guardianship.
How will you be notified of the transfer of funds
JSC Ukrposhta will send an SMS notification that the payment is already available for use.
What you can spend the “winter thousand” on
The money can be used at any Ukrposhta branch for
- paying for utilities or postal services;
- buying goods or ordering Ukrainian medicines;
- subscription to newspapers and magazines;
- charitable contributions, including support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What are the terms for using the payment?
If UAH 1000 was received automatically through Ukrposhta, it must be used by December 25, 2025.
If the application was made at a Ukrposhta branch, the funds are available until January 25, 2026.
If the payment is received to the National Cashback card via Diia, it must be used by June 30, 2026.
Additional payments
The most vulnerable categories of citizens will also receive an additional UAH 6,500 from the state as part of the Winter Support program.
