14 October 15:39
“Ukrposhta has announced the launch of its own network of post offices. The first 100 devices will appear by the end of the year – 70 in Kyiv and 30 in Odesa. This was reported by the company’s press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The project is being implemented jointly with the Ukrainian manufacturer Modern Expo, which won the tender.
How it will work
The post offices will be energy-independent – they will be able to function even without electricity and communication.
It will be possible to receive a parcel using a PIN code or through the updated Ukrposhta 2.0app, which is already available in the App Store and Google Play.
The company emphasizes that the devices are designed to meet high safety standards and are adapted to Ukrainian realities, including possible power outages in winter.
What Ukrposhta says
“This is just the beginning. Next year, post offices will appear all over Ukraine,“ the company’s press service said.
According to the company’s management, the network deployment is part of a plan to modernize the logistics and digital services of the state postal operator.
What else is changing at Ukrposhta
In recent months, the company has been carrying out a large-scale upgrade:
- on October 1 , it reduced the cost of small international shipments to the United States;
- upgrading its vehicle fleet – by the end of the year, it will receive 160 new MAN and Iveco vehicles with the support of the EBRD;
- sells old cars through Prozorro.Sale to finance modernization;
- testing an updated app that combines tracking, payment, and notification functions.
Why it’s important
- Ukrposhta ‘s own network of post offices reduces its dependence on private delivery operators.
- This allows us to improve access to services in the regions, especially where there are no branches.
- And the autonomy of the devices is a response to wartime challenges: power, communication or logistics outages.
In 2026 ,Ukrposhta plans to roll out a national network of post offices that will cover most regional centers and frontline cities.
The company is also considering options for cooperation with retail chains and communities to make post offices available in places of mass visits.
As a reminder, the state-owned postal operator is actively digitizing and striving to compete with private delivery services(Nova Poshta, Meest, Justin).
Earlier ,Ukrposhta announced that its strategic goal is to become financially self-sufficient without the need for government subsidies.
