Ukrzaliznytsia adds new trains with women’s compartments

The national carrier Ukrzaliznytsia has expanded the number of trains with female compartments available to our passengers. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the company‘s press service.
Tickets in women’s compartments do not differ in price from other compartments of the same type on a particular flight, but they will guarantee a certain amount of privacy and a sense of security during the journey.
Starting from 1 August, women’s compartments will be available on four long-haul flights:
- no. 1/2 Kharkiv – Ivano-Frankivsk.
- no. 5/6 Zaporizhzhia – Yasinia;
- no. 43/44 Cherkasy – Ivano-Frankivsk;
- no. 95/96 Kyiv – Rakhiv.
It is noted that traditionally tickets for women’s compartments are fully redeemed a week in advance, but are still available when planning a trip in advance.
“Monitoring of tickets with auto-redemption is also available for trains with women’s compartments – this mechanism makes it possible to grab tickets from the system for a passenger automatically as soon as one of the other passengers, for example, returns their ticket,” the company explained.
Women’s compartments are available for women and children under the age of 6.
UZ stressed that tickets for women’s compartments are available exclusively in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, where such seats are marked accordingly.
Currently, women’s compartments are already available on the following trains:
- no. 15/16 Kharkiv – Yasinia;
- no. 17/18 Kharkiv – Uzhhorod;
- no. 26/236 Odesa – Yasinia;
- no. 3/4 Zaporizhzhia – Uzhhorod;
- no. 41/42 Dnipro – Truskavets;
- 29/30 Kyiv – Uzhhorod;
- no. 81/82 Kyiv – Uzhhorod;
- no. 75/76 Kyiv – Kryvyi Rih.
It is worth noting that Ukrzaliznytsia has launched an updated website for buying train tickets . Passengers will be able to find out train times and routes, as well as use other features of the updated service.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia has changed the price of bed linen for the first time in 5 years. Starting from 22 May, a set of bed linen in reserved and compartment cars will cost UAH 80, and UAH 120 in second-class cars.
