Ukrzaliznytsia has announced that it is adjusting train schedules due to complications on the railroad section near Fastiv, which was recently hit by Russian shelling. For the time being, ticket sales for a number of flights have been suspended. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Why the train schedule is being changed
The schedule adjustment is due to the consequences of recent enemy attacks on the railway infrastructure in the Fastiv direction. As a result, train traffic on this section is restricted, and some routes have been temporarily changed for the safety of passengers and staff.
The company emphasizes that the decisions taken are forced and aimed at stabilizing traffic and restoring strict adherence to schedules.
When will the new timetables be available?
According to the railroad, the updated train schedules will be ready by the end of the day on January 7. Accordingly, ticket sales are scheduled to open:
- domestic flights – from 08:00 on January 8;
- international flights – from 09:00 on January 8.
Ukrainian trains will run according to the adjusted schedules starting from January 22.
What passengers should do until the schedule is updated
Until the new timetable is fully implemented, train delays of 1-2 hours are possible. Their duration will depend on the traffic volume and the technical situation on the Fastiv section.
Passengers are advised to
- follow the official announcements of the carrier;
- check the current status of flights before traveling;
- plan transfers taking into account possible delays.
Ukrzaliznytsia thanked passengers for their support and understanding, noting that all messages and words of gratitude addressed to the railroaders are carefully read and appreciated.
