Ukrzaliznytsia has canceled trains for March 16–17: list of services

16 March 08:15

Ukrzaliznytsia announced the temporary suspension of some commuter trains in the Sumy region on March 16–17. The restrictions are due to damage to the railway infrastructure caused by Russian shelling. This was reported by the carrier’s press service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Why were the trains canceled?

As explained by Ukrzaliznytsia, additional time is needed to fully restore commuter train service in the region due to infrastructure damage.

The company notes that railway workers are working to restore service as quickly as possible, but service had to be suspended for several days on certain sections.

“It will take some time to restore full suburban service in the Sumy region following enemy strikes on the infrastructure. Despite the difficult situation, we continue to ensure service in the region, but we are forced to temporarily cancel trains on certain routes,” the company reported.
