13 August 14:44

Between August 4 and 10, Ukrzaliznytsia identified and blocked 271 suspicious accounts due to mass ticket purchases, creation of linked profiles, and other violations of the app’s rules of use. Since March, there have been 3,806 such blockings. This was reported by the company’s press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The company emphasized that the service is intended for personal ticket purchases, but unscrupulous users are trying to circumvent technical restrictions. The reasons for blocking are:

  • mass creation of linked accounts;
  • booking seats without payment;
  • purchasing tickets under different names;
  • an excessive number of search queries or reservations;
  • linking multiple accounts to one bank card.

Among the cases identified were a user with 8 accounts who bought tickets under different names, a group of 18 linked profiles controlled by one person, and an account that booked seats 134 times without paying. One of the fraudsters purchased more than 200 tickets, claiming to be organizing “children’s trips,” but this information was not confirmed.

“Ukrzaliznytsia cooperates with ticket agents to block malware that tries to monitor tickets through third-party services. There is a separate official service for organizing group transportation.

If a user is blocked by mistake, they can contact [email protected].

According to the company, demand for rail tickets sometimes exceeds supply by eight times.
