24 October 2025 09:25

Ukrzaliznytsia has reported major changes in train traffic due to overnight attacks on infrastructure in several regions of Ukraine. Despite the shelling and damage, the company is using backup solutions to ensure passenger safety and continue transportation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Ukrzaliznytsia has used backup equipment, combined transportation (train-bus) and detour routes to ensure uninterrupted passenger transportation.

In this article, we explain how trains will run today, which directions have changed, and what passengers should do to avoid being late.

Main regions where train traffic is hampered

Kirovohrad region: damaged infrastructure, delays of more than 2 hours

The railway infrastructure was damaged as a result of the night shelling. The fires have been extinguished, there were no casualties, and traffic on both tracks has resumed.

However, there are still areas in the affected area without power supply, which is why trains are running under backup diesel locomotives.

The following trains are delayed:

  • #51/52 Odesa – Zaporizhzhia
  • no. 127/128 Lviv – Zaporizhzhia
  • 7/8 Kharkiv – Odesa
  • no. 53/54 Dnipro – Odesa

Average delay: more than 2 hours

Kharkiv region: changed routes and evacuation of passengers

Detour traffic is being used in the direction of Lozova with delays. Trains are running on backup routes, and passengers are partially transported by bus.

Combined logistics is applied to the route:

  • no. 92/91 Kramatorsk – Odesa – Kramatorsk

The train has also changed its route:

  • no. 103/104 Kramatorsk – Lviv

It evacuated 19 passengers with reduced mobility and animals. Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes that it is transporting everyone who needs help.

Trains are taking a detour through Merefa:

  • no. 102 Kherson – Kramatorsk
  • no. 104 Lviv – Kramatorsk
  • no. 712 Kyiv – Kramatorsk

Estimated delay: about 2 hours.
