Ships and oil facilities hit: Ukraine attacked the Russian port of Novorossiysk
2 March 14:12
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with other components of the Defense Forces, struck Russian military ships, air defense systems, and oil infrastructure in the port of Novorossiysk.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing its own sources in the SBU, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Drones from the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center, together with other components of the Defense Forces (State Border Service, Main Intelligence Directorate, Security Service, and Special Operations Forces), carried out strikes on military and oil facilities in the port of Novorossiysk that are involved in the war against Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, the SBU drones struck:
- military ships;
- the 30N6E2 guidance radar of the S-300 PMU-2 Favorit complex;
- Pantsir-S2 air defense missile system;
- six of the seven oil loading stands at the Sheskharis oil terminal.
It is reported that a large-scale fire has been burning in the port since last night.
The SBU emphasized that this terminal is one of the largest oil loading complexes for transshipment of oil and oil products in the south of the Russian Federation. It supplies fuel to Russian groups fighting in Ukraine.
“The SBU continues its systematic work to weaken the enemy’s military, financial, and logistical capabilities. Each such special operation directly affects the Russians’ ability to conduct combat operations and receive oil dollar revenues to the budget. The spring ‘cotton’ season has begun,” the source said.
Other attacks on Novorossiysk
In mid-November 2025, the SBU and the Ukrainian Security Forces also struck the port of Novorossiysk, through which the Kremlin exports oil and gas.
The attack damaged oil tankers at the berths, pipeline infrastructure, and pumping stations. There was also a fire at the facility.
In addition, on the night of November 25, Ukraine also attacked Novorossiysk. The oil terminal and a large landing ship were hit.
