The government allowed to book 100% of these specialists: what profession are we talking about

In Ukraine, enterprises, institutions and organisations that are certified mine action operators have been given the opportunity to book 100% of the composition of groups or departments conducting demining. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers on 18 June 2024. The main goal is to ensure the safety of the population in areas that may be potentially contaminated with mines and to return these lands to economic use.
According to Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Bezkaravaynyi, this initiative is very important for Ukraine’s economic growth and global food security. The demining teams will consist of specialists who have received basic training to search for mines and explosives in the fields.
“Humanitarian demining of the territory of Ukraine is one of the key tasks that the Government and our international partners are working to address. It is necessary to ensure the safety of the population in potentially mine-contaminated areas and return these lands to economic use as soon as possible. Both economic growth in Ukraine and food security in the world depend on this,” the official said.
The decision also stipulates that the operator may cancel the booking if it does not carry out humanitarian demining work within six months.
As of early June, 42 mine action operators were certified in Ukraine. There are 53 organisations in the process of certification, 31 of which are governmental. In May, about 2,000 specialists were involved in humanitarian demining, and another 1,900 in rapid response.
