The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new list of goods that cannot be exchanged or returned. This is stated in government decree No. 1243, which will come into force after the end of the war along with the new law on consumer protection, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The new Resolution No. 1243 has significantly changed the list of goods that cannot be exchanged compared to the current Resolution No. 172 of 1994.

The new list of goods that buyers cannot return or exchange includes a number of items at once.

In particular, the following items are included:

  • Food products
  • Medicinal products
  • Personal hygiene products (toothbrushes, hair brushes, eyelash or nail brushes, shaving aftershaves, personal care brushes, manicure and pedicure tools, and other similar products), cosmetic products and detergents without protective packaging that prevents free access to such goods.
  • goods cut or cut to the size determined by the consumer

It is emphasized that all of these goods cannot be returned or exchanged “without protective packaging that prevents free access to such goods”.

The list also includes goods “cut or cut to a size determined by the consumer”.

The last list of goods that are not subject to exchange and return will lose its validity after the new one comes into force.

This resolution shall enter into force simultaneously with the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine No. 3153-IX “On Consumer Protection” dated June 10, 2023, but not earlier than the day of its publication.
