The Government of Ukraine has decided to amend two resolutions on payments to military families. This was reported by with reference to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to modify its resolutions No. 884 of 30 November 2016 and No. 168 of 28 February 2022 during its last meeting. According to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, this initiative is aimed at simplifying procedures for establishing information about family members of servicemen who are in captivity, missing or killed.

The Ministry of Defence now has simplified access to some state registers and the possibility of electronic interaction between state electronic information resources.

“We believe that the families of killed, missing or captured soldiers should not spend their time and energy proving things that are obvious to them. If the state has the relevant information, the process will take place automatically after due diligence. This interaction with state registers will create a system that will greatly simplify and speed up payments to families,

– commented Natalia Kalmykova, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry, these changes will make it possible to identify relatives of servicemen who have been captured or gone missing and who are entitled to financial support payments more quickly. This also applies to the identification of all family members of the deceased who are entitled to a one-time financial assistance of UAH 15 million.
