The government has increased compensation for damaged business property. What will the payment amounts be?

The Cabinet of Ministers has increased compensation for damaged property in frontline regions from 10 million to 30 million hryvnias; for the rest of the country, the compensation amount for insurance premiums has been raised from 1 million to 3 million hryvnias. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, according to [Komersant].
“The government is expanding the war risk insurance program. Compensation for damaged property in frontline regions is being increased to 30 million UAH. For the rest of the country, the compensation amount for insurance premiums is being increased to 3 million UAH. The government continues to improve support tools, taking into account feedback and the real needs of businesses,” the Prime Minister said
Regarding compensation for damaged or destroyed property:
- the maximum compensation amount has been increased from 10 million UAH to 30 million UAH;
- the rule under which the compensation amount was reduced by the amount of previously received grants or other state support has been abolished;
- enterprises that have already submitted applications are now able to amend them by May 1, 2026, including increasing the claimed amount of potential losses or adding other property to the application, provided it was included in the program as of the date of damage or destruction.
Regarding insurance premium compensation:
- the maximum compensation amount has been increased from UAH 1 million to UAH 3 million;
- the process for obtaining support has been expedited—applications for compensation can be submitted as early as the 31st day after the insurance contract is concluded;
- if the contract provides for payment of the insurance premium in installments, compensation will also be paid in installments—proportional to the payments made.
According to Svyrydenko, since the program’s launch, businesses have submitted 52 applications for compensation for damaged or destroyed property, of which 20 have been approved for a total of UAH 166.5 million. Twenty-one applications have been submitted for insurance premium compensation.
