14 injured: supermarket roof collapses in Germany (photos)

On 30 July, the roof of a supermarket in Ratzeburg, Germany, collapsed, and firefighters are classifying it as a “mass casualty incident”. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" reports with reference to the newspaper Lübecker Nachrichten newspaper.

The media outlet reports that 14 people were injured. Some of them were hospitalised, while others received medical treatment at the scene.

A police spokeswoman said it was unclear whether there were other people in the building. Police are currently using a drone to search for possible victims and survivors under the rubble.

The cause of the partial collapse of the roof of a supermarket in a regional town is still not fully understood. The police received the emergency call at 17:10 local time. As the building was under a serious threat of collapse, emergency services were unable to enter.
