The White House has named the conditions under which Ukraine will be allowed to strike deeper at Russia

At a hearing of the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Relations, there were renewed calls to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range US ATACMS missiles to strike Russian military targets. Thus, congressmen of both parties, including Republican Joe Wilson and Democrat Gregory Meeks, insist on the need to allow Ukraine to strike all legitimate military targets in Russia. They argue that such actions are defensive and necessary for the effective defence of Ukraine.
State Department spokesman James O’Brien said that if Russia tries to expand the current front, Ukraine will be allowed to fire at a greater distance. He also noted that Russia is already losing its ability to advance due to Ukraine’s destruction of Russian facilities near the border.
The Biden administration emphasises that the main strategy for assisting Kyiv in 2025 is to ensure that Ukraine wins the war. To this end, it is planned to focus on arms supplies and the restoration of the Ukrainian economy.
It is expected that the main source of funding for Ukraine next year will be a $50 billion loan from the G7 countries, which they plan to repay with interest from seized Russian assets.
This discussion demonstrates the growing support for more active assistance to Ukraine in the US Congress, but the final decision on expanding military support rests with the presidential administration.
Not only the Biden administration, but also the Trump campaign has plans for Ukraine. The day before, the media reported on his plan. Trump plans to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table and force them to make peace, with each side retaining the territory it controls. If Ukraine refuses such a peace, the United States will cut off all aid to it. If Russia refuses such a peace, the United States arms Ukraine to the teeth so that it can defeat Russia on the battlefield as quickly as possible.
It has also become known that Trump is already preparing a new plan for Ukraine, which provides for NATO’s abandonment of Ukraine and the division of territories.

Western weapons and permits for their use
As you know, the United States(and Germany after them) allow the use of weapons provided by them only for strikes on the border territories of Russia. This permission was granted by US President Joe Biden only at the end of May, and before that, strikes on Russian territory with US weapons were generally prohibited.
However, towards the end of June, unofficial statements were heard from the US side that the restrictions “do not apply to geography or a certain radius”. This means that Ukraine is allegedly able to strike at those facilities and territories from which attacks on Ukraine are directly directed, even if they are deeper than the border areas.
Experts say that border strikes will not change the situation at the front, so Zelenskyy is asking his partners for permission to use their weapons on Russian territory. Some Western countries have already given such permission.
