According to him, border guards usually detain small groups of border violators, but the number of large groups has increased somewhat recently
“…in the recent period, there has been a certain audacity of criminal groups that promise people assistance in illegal border crossing. They are also trying to bring people to the border in large groups and smuggle them in large groups,” he said,

The State Border Guard Service is actively working to get to the organisers of such schemes, the spokesman said.
“During the period of martial law… at least 480 such criminal groups have been exposed, promising people assistance… They specialised in bringing people to the border in order to help them cross the border illegally,” the official said,

The organisers and their accomplices are criminally liable for such actions under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”. If such actions are committed by a group of people or for mercenary reasons, they are punishable by 7-9 years in prison.
