A 250-kilogram bomb was found near the Russian border in Estonia

A 250-kilogram bomb was found in Estonia near the border with Russia. According to ERR, citing the rescue service, the dangerous object was found on the morning of November 2 near the village of Auvera, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The agency clarified that the discovery was reported at about 08:30 by a local resident who, while walking in the woods, came across a large metal object resembling an airplane bomb.
Experts confirmed that it was indeed a 250-kilogram aircraft bomb and began preparations to destroy it. Residents were warned about the sappers’ work at the site. The origin of the munition and its type have not yet been disclosed.
The incident occurred amid heightened tensions in the region due to Russia’s actions. Earlier, on September 10, during Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine, 19 Russian drones invaded Poland’s airspace, most of which came from Belarus. On September 20, three Russian MiG-31 fighters violated Estonian airspace.
NATO characterized Moscow’s actions as “increasingly irresponsible behavior,” and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and U.S. Representative to the UN Security Council Mike Walz said that the Alliance would defend “every inch” of its territory and use “all necessary military and non-military tools to deter itself.”
Similar episodes occurred in Lithuania: in late July, a drone, which, according to Delfi’s sources, was launched from Belarus, violated the country’s airspace, flew near Vilnius and crashed at a training ground. The publication’s interlocutors noted at the time that this was Russia’s way of testing the capabilities of Lithuania’s air defense and exerting psychological influence on local residents.
