1 October 11:13
Today, on October 1, 5 degrees below zero was recorded on Mount Pip Ivan. In addition, there is almost half a meter of snow there. This was announced by the head of the rescue post Vasyl Fitsak, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“In the highlands of the Carpathians, winter is already felt. On Mount Pip Ivan, the air temperature has reached -5°C. The wind is north-northeast 6-8 m/s, gusting to 12. Visibility is limited, snow is falling. Snow drifts are up to half a meter,” Fitsak said.
He also posted a video of snow drifts on Mount Pip Ivan.
Rescuers warn tourists: such weather conditions make it difficult to travel and can be dangerous to health and life. A sharp drop in temperature, precipitation, wind, and poor visibility all increase the risk of getting lost, injured, or hypothermia.
Before going to the mountains, be sure to check the weather forecast, avoid hiking alone and on difficult routes. You should also bring warm clothes, food, and a charged phone. And inform your family about your route.
