A state of emergency has been declared in the country: Israel has attacked Iran

28 February 10:03

Israel has launched a preemptive strike against Iran to eliminate security threats. Due to the threat of retaliatory strikes, a state of emergency has been declared throughout the country, and citizens are being urged to stay close to shelters.

This was announced by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing The Times of Israel.

Details of the attack and security measures

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the introduction of an “immediate state of emergency throughout the country.” According to him, a preemptive strike on Iran was necessary to neutralize existing threats to the state of Israel.

Sirens are currently sounding throughout the country. The IDF Home Front Command has called on the civilian population to stay close to bomb shelters and avoid non-essential travel due to the complex security situation.

Recommendations for civilians

The Israel Defense Forces emphasized that “proactive notification” is intended to prepare the public for possible rocket attacks on Israeli territory.

“At this time, there is no need to take shelter, but citizens should know where the nearest protected area is located,” the IDF said.

Escalation in the Middle East

Against the backdrop of the rapidly escalating situation in the Middle East, the administration of US President Donald Trump has been considering scenarios that could change the course of history in the coming weeks.

There is a prevailing belief in the corridors of the White House that it would be much more advantageous for the United States from a political point of view if Israel took the first step in the military sphere. The president’s advisers believe that such a development would put Washington in a more comfortable position before the possible launch of its own large-scale operation.

At the same time, the diplomatic track is showing unexpected maneuvers. During the February talks in Oman, Tehran made a proposal: the Iranian side expressed its readiness to transfer its stocks of highly enriched uranium to Russia, the amount of which would potentially be enough to create twelve nuclear warheads. In addition, Iranian officials hinted at the possibility of freezing the enrichment process for three years.

Despite these signals of dialogue, the situation is teetering on the brink of global conflict. While Washington is officially considering options for countering Iran’s missile program, sources in American circles are increasingly saying that diplomatic resources are almost exhausted.
