For the first time in several years, Kyiv will host the Equality March

For the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Equality March and LGBTQ charity festival will be held in the capital on 16 June. This was announced "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The last time it took place in Kyiv was back in 2021. For safety reasons, it is planned to be held in the Kyiv metro. The KyivPride team is already in talks with the military administration.
What is the Equality March and when was it held for the first time?
The Equality March will be held as part of Pride Month. The history of this movement dates back to 1969, when the Stonewall riots took place – a movement for the rights of the LGBTIQ community.
Pride Month was first declared in 1999 by US President Bill Clinton. Since then, June has become a month when society draws attention to the problems faced by the LGBTIQ community.
