According to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko, during one anesthesia, the team of surgeons performed six operations: formed the bladder, its neck and urethra, restored the navel, performed plastic surgery of the anterior abdominal wall and fused the pelvic bones.
The operation lasted half as long as usual in similar cases, which reduced the risks and made recovery from anesthesia safer for the patient.
Currently, doctors are closely monitoring the functioning of the newly created bladder and the girl’s general condition. Lyashko thanked the Okhmatdyt team for their professionalism and well-coordinated work.
