In early July, satellite imagery showed signs of a possible reconstruction of the Donetsk airport.
This was reported by the Military Journal telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that visually noticeable changes may indicate the start of construction work on the territory of the airport, which was destroyed as a result of hostilities.
In particular, the fortifications that used to block the runway have already been filled in. This may indicate preparations for its reuse.
Construction activity has also been recorded at the site of the former parking lots. There is an assumption that a fuel and technical base is being arranged on this site. In addition, work is likely to continue on the territory of the METRO Cash and Carry hypermarket No. 24. At the same time, it remains unclear whether this is actually the construction of military infrastructure.
In addition, analysts reported preliminary signs of Russian attack drones being launched from the Donetsk airport.
