Shortage of gasoline and diesel fuel at gas stations in occupied Crimea again

In the occupied Crimean peninsula, despite the limits imposed in October on the sale of gasoline, fuel shortages are again being recorded at gas stations, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing Russian propaganda media.

For example, in the Leninsky district, according to local residents, in the middle of the week, A-95 gasoline and diesel fuel disappeared from large gas stations.

According to media reports, the same problem is in Simferopol. the 95th gasoline disappeared from free sale in the city at the beginning of the week, it is only available with coupons and fuel cards. The “Ministry of Fuel and Energy” of Crimea assures that the disruptions are temporary and the situation will soon stabilize.

“Delays and reduction in the supply of fuel and lubricants to gas stations are caused by interruptions in the operation of the Kerch ferry crossing due to unfavorable weather conditions,” the ministry said in a statement.

The media publish screenshots from local chats where drivers are trying to find out where to buy gasoline in Yalta, Dzhankoy and other locations.

The gasoline crisis in Crimea began in September after a series of Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries. On the occupied peninsula, as in many other Russian regions, there was an acute shortage of fuel at gas stations, which led the authorities to impose and then almost immediately tighten restrictions on the sale of gasoline. On October 1, the so-called head of the Crimean administration, Sergei Aksyonov, announced a 20-liter limit on the sale of fuel to one person. A few days earlier, he promised to solve the problem of fuel supply interruptions within two weeks.

As a result, prices at a number of gas stations jumped to 90 rubles per liter of A-95, but some gas stations disappeared altogether. The Crimean “government” explained the situation by the weather, which complicates logistics, increased demand due to the holiday season, and an “objective” reduction in production at Russian refineries. The crisis was stabilized only by the end of October, when the limits on the sale of light oil products were lifted.
