The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a bill on voluntary return to service for those who have left military units without permission or deserted for the first time, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
That is, there will be no punishment if a soldier has left military units without permission or deserted for the first time, if the return was voluntary and if he is ready to continue military service.
According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, during martial law, military personnel who first left military units or places of service without permission or deserted and voluntarily returned to the place of service and expressed their readiness to continue military service, military service and the contract are extended.
Such military personnel resume receiving cash payments and food, clothing and other types of support, benefits and social guarantees.
The criminal proceedings initiated against servicemen who first left military units or places of service without permission or deserted and voluntarily arrived and expressed their readiness to continue military service are not grounds for refusing to extend the military service of such servicemen and the validity of their contract.
