Large-scale train delays in Ukraine after enemy attack

The enemy attack on Poltava region has caused serious damage to the railway infrastructure, causing a number of long-distance and suburban trains to experience significant delays.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference toUkrzaliznytsia.

“As a result of enemy attacks on Poltava region, there are damages, several stations have no power supply, and the contact network of several sections is damaged,” UZ explained.

As a result, a number of trains will experience significant delays on the way, as only diesel locomotives can run through these sections.

In particular, it is known that suburban trains in Poltava and Kharkiv regions will run with possible delays of approximately 1.5-2 hours.

Railroad officials also noted delays in long-distance trains as of 8:00 a.m:

  • no. 720 Kyiv – Kharkiv 6:30 hrs
  • no. 22/21 Kharkiv – Lviv 2:30 hours
  • no. 111/112 Lviv – Izyum 5 hours
  • no. 63/64 Lviv – Kharkiv 5 hours
  • no. 103/104 Husarivka – Lviv 4 hours
  • no. 17/18 Uzhhorod – Kharkiv 3:40 h
  • no. 227/228 Husarivka – Ivano-Frankivsk 3:30 hrs.

For passengers of Intercity trains 725 Kharkiv – Kyiv, boarding will be organized in Poltava, where they will be taken by electric train.

Accordingly, passengers of the Intercity train #720 Kyiv – Kharkiv will be transported from Poltava to the Kharkiv terminus by electric train.

Also, due to the effects of enemy attacks, train #72/71 Lviv – Pavlohrad will run to Samar-Dniprovskyi station.

“We are already doing everything possible to reduce the delay,” UZ said.

Shelling of Ukraine

On the night of November 8, 2025, Ukraine suffered a large-scale attack from Russia. The enemy used missiles and drones to strike the country’s energy infrastructure.

This caused emergency power outages in several regions and significant disruptions in the operation of critical facilities.
