Ukraine’s minimum pension will increase by UAH 500 in three years

In its Budget Declaration for 2026-2028, the government envisaged a gradual increase in the subsistence minimum for people who have lost their ability to work. The amount of the minimum pension directly depends on this indicator. The relevant norms are contained in the Cabinet of Ministers’ document “On Approval of the Budget Declaration for 2026-2028”.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

Currently, the minimum pension for Ukrainians is 2361 hryvnia. According to government plans, its amount will increase annually, taking into account the projected inflation rate. This means that pension payments will not increase abruptly, but smoothly and predictably.

The planned benchmarks for the coming years are as follows

  • in 2026 – UAH 2,564
  • in 2027 – UAH 2715
  • in 2028 – UAH 2859.

Thus, over the next three years, the minimum pension will increase by almost half a thousand hryvnias. Although this increase is hardly significant, it should provide some compensation for the elderly in the face of the constant rise in the cost of goods and services.

Economists emphasize that regular indexation of pensions remains a key element of state social policy, as pensioners are the most sensitive to economic fluctuations and price increases.
