Prices for chicken eggs in Ukraine started to fall in April. This happened after a significant increase in February and March. This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

According to him, prices fell by 5.2% over two weeks – from 60.85 UAH to 57.68 UAH per dozen of unpackaged C1 chicken eggs.

Koval said that there is no shortage of chicken eggs on the domestic market, and the supply meets current consumer demand.

“The chicken egg market is traditionally characterized by seasonal fluctuations in demand. The current price dynamics reflects the interaction of market factors, including production costs (feed, energy, logistics), as well as seasonal demand,” the minister said.

In particular, the ministry’s data show that egg production in March 2025 amounted to 962 million eggs, which shows a significant increase compared to January (784 million eggs) and February (787 million eggs) of this year.

The Ministry cites the following price dynamics in recent weeks:

  • march 28, 2025 – UAH 60.85;
  • april 4, 2025 – UAH 60.44 (down 0.7%);
  • april 1, 2025 – UAH 57.68 (down 4.6%).

As a reminder, this year Easter is celebrated in Ukraine on April 20. Due to the tradition of Easter eggs, this period is characterized by the highest demand for eggs.
