New COVID-19 Stratus strain in Ukraine: what a virologist says

A new strain of COVID-19 Stratus has been detected in Ukraine. The doctor told how to avoid getting sick.
This was discussed on Kyiv 24 TV channel. It was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
Alla Myronenko, Doctor of Medicine, Professor at the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, said that the risk of catching COVID-19 Stratus is greatest for people with chronic diseases, the elderly, and children due to weaker immunity.
The doctor noted that it is important for people with hoarseness and symptoms of upper respiratory tract disease to wear masks so as not to endanger others.
According to her, the new Stratus coronavirus variant spreads through the air when a person coughs, sneezes or speaks, releasing droplets of the virus that others can inhale.
It should be noted that Ukraine has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases, typical of the summer period. Currently, cases of infection with the new Stratus (XFG) coronavirus strain have been reported in seven regions and Kyiv.
