Prices for cucumbers began to rise rapidly in Ukraine
27 July 2025 15:10
This week, Ukrainian greenhouse plants began to raise prices for cucumbers due to a decrease in supply on the market caused by unfavorable weather conditions, while demand remains high.
This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project. It is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
Cucumber producers explain the current price increase by a sharp decline in market volumes due to the off-season. Many greenhouse farms have already completed harvesting the first turnover of cucumbers, and the new harvest will begin only in the second half of August. Those factories that are still selling cucumbers are raising prices every day, based on strong demand. In addition, the limited supply of cucumbers from the open field also keeps prices for greenhouse products high.
Currently, prices for cucumbers in Ukraine are 25-45 UAH per kilogram (approximately $0.60-1.08), up 19% compared to the end of last week. At the same time, compared to the same period last year, the price of cucumbers is still 24% lower.
Experts emphasize that if the weather conditions improve, the market situation may change and the price dynamics may change accordingly.
