A demo version of the “eTutyun” information and communication system was unveiled in Ukraine, marking the country’s transition to digital and systematic control of the tobacco market.

This was reported by the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The system is designed to replace outdated paper reports with a modern digital solution, uniting the state, business, and society within a single information space.

Functionality and capabilities of the digital platform

The highlight of the presentation was a demonstration of the platform’s operation, where all necessary processes are integrated within a single interface:

  • submission by manufacturers of reports on ingredients and emissions in electronic format;
  • centralized data collection and analysis;
  • creation of open datasets;
  • integration with other government registries and services.

In effect, “eTobacco” creates a digital ecosystem that integrates with other state registries and services, allowing for the avoidance of data duplication and making the reporting process as efficient as possible.

As noted by Serhiy Tkachuk, head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the country is gradually moving away from paper-based procedures and transitioning to digital solutions.

“The reason is simple—commitments to the EU and the need for real control over what people consume. That is why the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection initiated the creation of the ‘eTutyun’ system—a tool designed to unite business, the state, and society within a single information space,” Tkachuk emphasized.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers has officially launched the “eTutyun” digital platform, which will radically change reporting rules for manufacturers and importers of tobacco products.
