Carrot prices continue to fall in Ukraine: what are the current prices?
15 March 00:21
For the second week in a row, Ukraine has seen a decline in wholesale prices for carrots, according to analysts from the EastFruit project, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to experts, this situation is due to relatively warm weather, which, in turn, contributes to a decline in the quality of this produce in storage facilities. As a result, farmers are trying to sell low-quality carrots as quickly as possible, which, of course, has inevitably affected market prices.
Today, carrots are selling for 6–12 UAH/kg ($0.14–0.27/kg), which is on average 20% cheaper than at the end of last week. Producers attribute the downward price trend in this segment to the increase in carrot supply on the market, as farms that previously refrained from selling are now actively selling off their existing stocks. At the same time, the supply of substandard root vegetables remains quite significant, which also puts downward pressure on prices for high-quality produce.
It is worth noting that as of today, carrot prices in Ukraine are already, on average, 72% lower than in the first ten days of March 2025.
