New crop apples are rapidly becoming cheaper in Ukraine

Despite the fact that apple harvesting for the 2025 crop has only recently begun, selling prices for summer varieties are already showing a significant decline. Since the beginning of this week, apples have fallen in price by an average of 12%.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to EastFruit.

Currently, wholesale batches are sold in the range of 35-45 UAH per kilogram ($0.85-1.09/kg), depending on the variety and volume of purchases.

The main reason for the decline in prices is the almost complete lack of demand for summer apples from the new harvest. Many retailers and wholesalers still offer last year’s apples, including many imported from Poland.

Farmers explain that the market is under pressure from a seasonal increase in the supply of Ukrainian apples, while demand from domestic wholesalers and exporters remains low. This continues to drive further price declines.

At the same time, analysts emphasize that despite the current decline, the price of apples is still 2.2 times higher on average than in the same period last year.

As of mid-July, prices for apples of the new harvest are in the range of 60-70 UAH/kg/, which is on average 2.9 times more expensive than at the beginning of last season.
