Tomato prices have fallen significantly in Ukraine
13 July 10:12
Greenhouse tomatoes have fallen in price again in Ukraine. Over the past week, prices have fallen by another 14%.
This is reported by analysts of the EastFruit project. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
The reason for this reduction was the massive harvesting of both greenhouse tomatoes and products from film greenhouses in the southern regions of the country. Favorable sunny weather has accelerated the ripening of tomatoes, so there is a lot of them on the market now.
Demand remains high, but prices continue to decline due to the large supply. Currently, tomatoes are sold for 40-55 UAH per kilogram, depending on the quality and volume of the batch.
Interestingly, even with falling prices, greenhouse tomatoes are now 17% more expensive on average than last year. Vendors suggest that prices may drop even further, as many farms have just started active harvesting.
