The cost of meat in Ukraine will increase by another 10-20% by the end of the year. This was announced in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian" by Mykola Babenko, chairman of the Meat Industry Association.
“The price has decreased slightly now, but, objectively, it may increase by another 10-20 percent by the end of the year for all types of meat, except beef,” the expert said.
Demand for beef in Ukraine remains limited, Babenko continued.
“Beef is consumed within 5%. This type of meat is one of the most expensive. There are foreign markets for beef where it can be easily exported. Beef in Ukraine is mainly from cows from dairy farms that have already been depreciated, and, accordingly, the costing is slightly different than in pig and poultry production,” he explained.
