Passport issuance has been temporarily suspended in Ukraine: what is the reason?

Due to scheduled maintenance work on the equipment of the Unified State Demographic Register (USDR), the issuance of passport documents will be temporarily unavailable. This was reported by the press service of the State Enterprise “Document”, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that the suspension will last from 16:00 on December 13 to December 16, 2024.
“On December 13, 2024, at 16:30 (Kyiv time), scheduled maintenance work will be carried out on the equipment that ensures the operation of the Unified State Demographic Register (USDR). In this regard, services for the issuance and registration of passport documents will not be provided from 16:00 on December 13, 2024 to December 16, 2024,” the statement said.
The resumption of services will be announced later.

It should be noted that starting from October 7 , the cost of passport and migration service packages at the offices of the State Enterprise “Document” in Ukraine has changed.
The tariff for the “Standard” service package will be:
- Issuance of passport documents to Ukrainian citizens – UAH 650;
- Issuance of migration documents to foreigners and stateless persons – UAH 1250;
- Exchange of a driver’s license – UAH 950;
- Exchange of a vehicle registration certificate – UAH 950;
- Apostille affixing – UAH 650.
