Production of counterfeits of famous clothing brands detected in Ukraine

Detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine have uncovered a large-scale underground production of counterfeit footwear and clothing of well-known international brands. The factories and warehouses were located in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing the BES press service.
The factories employed more than 100 people without proper documentation, and did not pay taxes. At the same time, they produced counterfeits of more than 15 well-known brands, according to the BES
The monthly turnover of the clandestine production was estimated at over UAH 10 million.
“The BES detectives conducted searches at factories and warehouses and seized sewing equipment, machines, packaging boxes, stickers, labels and emblems with logos of well-known brands, raw materials and products without documentary evidence of their origin. The preliminary value of the seized inventory is over UAH 20 million,”
– the BES said in a statement.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
