The Day of Army Aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was established in Ukraine

Ukraine will annually celebrate the Day of Army Aviation of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The corresponding decree No. 17/2025, signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was published by the Office of the President, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The decree provides for the annual celebration of the Day of Army Aviation of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 3.
“To establish in Ukraine the Day of Army Aviation of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which shall be celebrated annually on July 3,” the document says.
The decision aims to “honor the courage and heroism of the soldiers of the Army Aviation of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, displayed in the struggle for freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as to establish modern military traditions.”
The Army Aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces is designed to provide fire support during an offensive or counterattack by its ground units.
Helicopters are also used to land and support airborne troops, as well as to attack enemy positions and manpower.
Helicopters are also used to intercept Russian Shahed kamikaze drones over the territory of Ukraine.
The decree came into force on the day of its publication.
It should be noted that in December 2024, Zelensky signed a decree establishing the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity in Ukraine. The new public holiday will be celebrated annually on May 21.
