Ukraine is planning to launch a unique online platform for selling artisan cheeses. It will become an important tool for uniting producers and promoting their products on the market. This was reported by the founder of the Association of Cheese Producers of Ukraine, Tetiana Dyadechko, in an interview with Kurkul.com, according to
According to Dyadechko, cheese production can be an interesting business for both young entrepreneurs and retirees. The main thing is to have a passion for your work and a willingness to develop your own business.
However, to get started in this area, it is important to:
- Officially register your business.
- Provide quality raw materials.
- Establish sales channels.
You can sell products through social media, networking, specialized festivals, exhibitions, and cooperation with restaurants.
The cheese market and the role of online sales
The Internet has greatly simplified the process of selling products. According to Dyadechko, it used to be much more difficult to sell cheese without using social media. Now artisanal cheese makers are actively using Instagram and other platforms to advertise and attract customers.
“Now it is important to study the market, build a sales and advertising base. The Internet greatly simplifies the sales process. I can’t even imagine how we used to sell cheese without Instagram,” says Tetiana Dyadechko.
In addition, green tourism is actively developing in Ukraine. Many cheese factories open their doors to visitors, offering tours, master classes, and tastings.
Market challenges and solutions
One of the key problems in the industry is the lack of a single platform for artisanal cheese makers to unite. This complicates the sale of products and reduces their availability to consumers.
“That is why we plan to create such a platform on the basis of our Association. At first, it will be an online store, and later, the first physical store in Kyiv, where you can buy local cheeses and related products,” said Dyadechko.
The launch of the new platform will help expand the artisan cheese market, support local producers and popularize Ukrainian products among consumers.
It should be noted that Tetiana Dyadechko makes craft cheese, created the first Cheese School in Ukraine, is a co-owner of a small cheese factory in the Alpine Mountains, and is an ambassador of Ukrainian cottage cheese in the United States.
