Ukraine launches “Schoolchild’s Package” program: parents of first-graders will receive UAH 5,000 each

On August 18, 2025, the government announced the launch of a new state program to support parents of first-graders – the Schoolchild’s Package.

This was announced by First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to him, the aid will amount to UAH 5,000 as a one-time payment and will be credited through the Diia app. The funds are earmarked and can only be spent on children’s clothing, shoes, and school supplies. The money must be used within 180 days from the date of enrollment.

Mr. Fedorov explained that in order to apply for the payment, parents or legal guardians of a first-grader will receive a push notification in Diia. After that, they will be able to apply and choose an account to transfer funds to – open a Diia.Card at a partner bank or use an existing one.

What is known about the “Schoolchild’s Package” program

  • Parents or guardians of children enrolled in the 1st grade can receive payments.
  • The application must be submitted in the Diia app by November 15, 2025.
  • If the child’s data has not been updated in Diia, you need to contact the school to check the information in the AIKOM system. After the update, the data will appear within a week.
  • The Pension Fund receives the list of first-grade students and their parents from the Ministry of Education.
  • The funds can only be spent on school preparation supplies to avoid misuse.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasizes that the program is designed to reduce the financial burden on families at the start of the school year and make the process of preparing children for school more affordable.
