The number of millionaires has grown significantly in Ukraine

Last year, the number of hryvnia millionaires in Ukraine increased by more than 10% compared to 2022. This is stated in the information provided by Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Finance Committee, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

on 1 May, the income declaration campaign for 2023 ended – a total of 172 thousand declarations were filed by citizens.

They declared an annual income of UAH 218.5 billion. Out of this amount, citizens paid UAH 4.8 billion in personal income tax, which is UAH 2.1 billion more than last year, and UAH 0.9 billion in military duty, which is UAH 0.4 billion more than in the same period last year.

The number of citizens who declared an annual income of more than UAH 1 million in 2023 is 10.7 thousand. Compared to last year, there are 1.2 thousand more millionaires in Ukraine. In total, millionaires paid over UAH 1 billion in taxes last year.

Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian banks have paid UAH 50 billion in income tax.
