Power outages are returning to Ukraine: Ukrenergo has released a schedule for March 23

23 March 02:11

On Monday, March 23, rolling blackouts will be in effect across all regions of Ukraine. In addition, power restriction schedules will be implemented for industrial consumers.

This was reported by [Komersant], citing a statement by Ukrenergo on Telegram.

Hourly power outages for residential consumers will be in effect from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Power restriction schedules for industrial consumers will also be in effect during this time.

The reason for extending the restrictions is the impact of massive combined attacks by Russian occupiers on Ukraine’s energy facilities.

“The situation in the power grid may change. Check the official websites of the regional power distribution companies in your area for the times and duration of outages at your address,” the statement said.

Ukrenergo also urged all Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly when it is available according to the schedule.

The situation in Ukraine’s power grid

As a reminder, starting in the fall of 2025, Russia resumed regular attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. More intense shelling began in the winter, during an unusually cold spell. At that time, as a result of these events, cities were left without electricity, water, and heat for about a day, and some for even longer.

It should be noted that power outages have recently become more frequent in Ukraine again. This is due to damage caused by the Russians to facilities necessary for electricity transmission.
