Denmark plans to send several groups of its military to study Ukraine’s war experience. Against this background, Russia threatens to escalate.
Danish Army Commander Peter Boysen said this in an interview with TV 2, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
He aims to prepare Danish soldiers for modern warfare techniques borrowed from the Ukrainian experience, including the use of attack drones.
The Danish military is already training to use drones similar to those used at the front in Ukraine. These UAVs and the technique of their use were the result of Commander Boysen’s own visit to Ukraine.
Therefore, he is now seeking to accelerate the training process and send groups of Danish soldiers to Ukraine for training. These exercises have not yet been finalized, nor has the number of Danish soldiers who can take part in them.
However, Boysen wants the training to last from one to two weeks and to begin, possibly, in the summer. The general allegedly received the invitation to Ukraine for the Danish soldiers from the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky.
Despite the fact that Boisen assured that the Danes would not take part in hostilities against the Russians and would train at bases in the western part of Ukraine, Russian Ambassador to Copenhagen Vladimir Barbin expressed outrage at the mission.
According to him, “sending the Danish military to Ukraine, in particular to study combat experience, draws Denmark deeper into the conflict in Ukraine and provokes its further uncontrolled escalation.”
