HACCU takes MP Kuznetsov into custody in case of embezzlement during the purchase of drones

On August 4, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a pre-trial restraint on MP from the Servant of the People party Oleksiy Kuznetsov, who is suspected of corruption in defense procurement. This is reported by Suspilne with reference to the court hearing, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Kuznetsov was taken into custody for 60 days with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 8 million.
According to the investigation, in 2024-2025, Kuznetsov and his accomplices organized a scheme to systematically embezzle local budget funds intended for the purchase of dronesand electronic warfare (EW) equipment for the army. It also involved receiving and passing on bribes in particularly large amounts.
Kuznetsov and several other defendants were detained on August 2. The names of the suspects have not been officially disclosed, but according to media reports, the case also involves the former head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai, who is now the head of the Mukachevo District Administration.
According to the NABU, the defendants in the case are:
- mP of Ukraine;
- former head of the Luhansk regional administration;
- the head of the city military administration;
- the commander of a military unit of the National Guard;
- a beneficiary of a UAV manufacturer;
- director of the same company.
The investigation is being conducted by the NABU and the SAPO.
