Vance says Trump wants to “end” funding for war in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump wants the United States to “end” the financing of the war in Ukraine.
This was announced by Vice President of the United States J.D. Vance in an interview with Fox News.
“The President and I want America to stop funding the war in Ukraine. We want to achieve a peaceful settlement,” Vance said.
The politician noted that Americans are tired of spending their taxes on the Ukrainian war. However, if the Europeans want to buy American weapons to give them to Ukraine, Washington will not object, the vice president added.
on July 14, Trump promised to supply Kyiv with new weapons and equipment, including the Patriot air defense system. The American president did not name the exact number of systems he plans to transfer to Ukraine, but added that the European Union would reimburse the United States for their cost.
on July 24, Trump, speaking at a conference in Washington, emphasized that Europe should have started paying the US the full cost of weapons supplied to Ukraine three years ago. He noted that the US and the EU had concluded an agreement under which European countries would now pay the US 100% of the cost of weapons, and then send most of them to Ukraine.
