The Verkhovna Rada supported the payment of ₴50,000 for the birth of a child: what else does the new law provide for

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted in the first reading Bill 13532, which provides for expanded support for families with children. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The initiative was supported by 290 MPs.
The main provisions of the bill:
- Assistance to pregnant women without insurance experience
Women who are not officially employed will be able to receive monthly financial support in the amount of ₴7,000 during pregnancy. - One-time payment after the birth of a child
After giving birth, women are offered ₴50,000 as a one-time support for the birth of a child. - Financial assistance for childcare for children under 1 year of age
A parent, guardian, grandparent, or other relative who actually cares for a child will be able to receive ₴7,000 per month. - “eNursery” program
If one of the parents goes to work after the child turns 1, the state will compensate for the cost of kindergarten – up to ₴8,000 per month. - Schoolbag Initiative
Every first-grader is offered a one-time payment of ₴5,000 to buy necessary things for school.
Expected results:
- Increased social support for families with children
- Stimulation of parents’ employment
- Development of a network of private preschools
- Flexible conditions for combining work and parenthood
This draft law is part of a broader government program that allows parents to choose between an early return to work with compensation or long-term childcare with support from a single social contribution.
