War veterans and demobilized soldiers will receive professional support from a specialist

Ukraine has started accepting applications for participation in the selection of specialists to support war veterans and demobilized persons in accordance with the updated professional standard. This was reported by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In April 2024, the professional standard “Specialist in Support of War Veterans and Demobilized Persons” was approved and the data on it was included in the Register of Qualifications.
What will be the work of such specialists?
As explained by the Ministry, a war veterans’ support specialist is the first person to meet a veteran upon returning to the community, as well as to help their families and the families of fallen heroes. This specialist provides information and support, advises on obtaining statuses, benefits, services, housing, rehabilitation, employment, starting a business, and legal assistance.
The specialists will be trained at universities and veteran development centers of the Ministry of Veterans in accordance with a standardized educational program.
Support specialists will work in municipal institutions, including veterans’ spaces, whose activities will be standardized by the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Veterans.
In August last year, the government adopted a resolution that defines a mechanism for ensuring the activities of specialists in supporting war veterans and demobilized persons in the system of transition from military service to civilian life. In particular, it regulates the issue of remuneration and defines the mechanism for organizing its activities.

Who can apply for this position
The following persons can become a specialist in support of war veterans and demobilized persons
– a citizen of Ukraine,
– those who have at least a bachelor’s degree. Fields of knowledge: “education”, “culture, arts and humanities”, “social sciences, journalism and information”, “business, administration and law”, “information technology”, “engineering, manufacturing and construction”, “healthcare and social security”, “transport and services” and “security and defense”.
How to apply for the position
Candidates for the position can apply only in electronic form through the e-Veteran web platform.
To submit an application
– log in to your account at eveteran.gov.ua with an electronic signature,
– fill out the online application form step by step and take the online test,
– make sure that the information in the application is correct and reliable,
– sign the application using an electronic signature.
The applicant is responsible for the accuracy of the information in the application. The application will be sent to the Ministry of Veterans, where it will be checked for the status of preference during the selection process.
You can submit no more than one application per person. The submitted application cannot be edited.
The ministry notes that candidates will be selected, i.e., tested – psychologically and for knowledge of the law – and interviewed.
With an equal number of points, preference will be given to candidates who have the status of a war veteran, a person with special services to the Motherland, an injured participant in the Revolution of Dignity, a family member of a deceased war veteran, a Defender of Ukraine, and are registered in the Unified State Register of War Veterans.
Priority will be given to candidates with professional qualities and the ability to provide effective services.
