Bogutskaya: Cases of violence by the TCC are not widespread

Individual cases of harsh actions by representatives of territorial recruitment centers cannot be considered a systemic problem, but they are often the subject of high-profile media coverage. In the vast majority of cases, mobilization proceeds calmly and within the law. This was stated by Ukrainian MP Yelizaveta Bogutskaya in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".

“Where the TCC is overstepping its bounds, and, of course, if there are any violent methods, although I don’t know how credible they are, that’s not my business, it’s up to law enforcement agencies to deal with it. But this (such cases, ed.) accounts for about 1% of all others mobilized through the TCC. That is, this is not a widespread story,” she said.

According to the deputy, isolated incidents create much more public resonance than thousands of cases of legal and peaceful mobilization, which remain unnoticed by the media.

“If you take one case that has occurred and broadcast it with negative comments, and it all spreads, the resonance from it is much greater than from all the other 99% of cases where mobilization went smoothly,” she said.

Bohutskaya also drew attention to the difficulties in the work of the TCC, in particular on the part of the military, who were directly involved in combat operations and face aggression from draft dodgers. She stressed that the problem must be considered comprehensively, taking into account the behavior of both sides, and that the work of the TCC must be accompanied by the presence of law enforcement officers to record possible violations.
