“We forced the NABU to question us through the courts,” Anna Skorokhod on the case against her

Almost two months after the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) served a notice of suspicion to MP Anna Skorokhod, according to the MP herself, the investigation has made virtually no progress. Moreover, the defense had to go to court to compel detectives to take active investigative measures. MP Anna Skorokhod herself spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".

“We have now compelled NABU to question us through the courts. This is how they are investigating the case, that we had to go to court for questioning. The High Anti-Corruption Court extended the pre-trial investigation to four months. Thank you for listening to us, the defense, because, unfortunately, NABU has done nothing during this time, even though 59 detectives were involved at the start to understand this case,” she said.

Skorokhod also expressed doubts about the effectiveness of the investigation.

“In two months, or more precisely, in the last few days, they sent the case for examination and sent requests. In my opinion, with 59 detectives on the case, this kind of work is, to put it mildly, irresponsible. We are suspected of incitement. Although no one has ever caught us doing anything. It’s all a lie,” she said, expressing her position on the case.

The deputy also stated that she was partially familiarized with the case materials, in particular, she was shown a video which, according to her, “does not contain any evidence of a crime.” She is convinced that the case is more media-related than legal in nature.

“I was also partially familiarized with the case materials and shown a video. It’s a normal video. I’ll tell you, there’s nothing there. That’s all there is to the case today. By and large, as I said, they need to smear the person in the media, and then you have to go and prove that you’re not a donkey. That’s basically what’s happening now,” Skorokhod added.

She also emphasized that she would insist on open court hearings with the possibility of broadcasting and video recording.

“I insist on open court hearings. At first, the prosecutor’s office insisted on closed hearings, but, as we saw, they were, as they say, open, but without the right to broadcast and film. I insist on open hearings. I have nothing to hide,” the politician explained.

The Skorokhod case

On December 5, 2025, the SBU, NABU, and SAP exposed an organized criminal group in Kyiv, which, according to the investigation, was headed by Anna Skorokhod. She and her assistant were handed a suspicion of receiving illegal benefits from an entrepreneur.

According to NABU, the suspects convinced the entrepreneur of their ability to pass bribes to government officials, including members of the National Security and Defense Council, so that they would allegedly adopt the necessary sanctions decision.

The deputy herself stated that she sees the actions of law enforcement agencies as “direct pressure on the opposition and an attempt to block political activity.”

On December 9, the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for Anna Skorokhod in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 3 million 28 thousand. On December 12, bail was posted for the MP. She was released with an electronic monitoring bracelet.
